How bad is it to do a complete rescape?

ugh, totally. I started a little today, got all my corals moved into 2 10 gallon tanks with powerheads. Hubby's doing some work on the sump for the bigger tank, so not moving anything else until that's running.

In other news, we've decided to hang on to the 105 tank and set it up as a FOWLR! That way, we still get two salty tanks with different types of fish to look at, but without breaking the bank. We'll get a normal inexpensive light and spend a bit more on the skimmer since we know we want to have some type of puffer.

I am excited to start aquascaping the new tank, but gotta wait on that sump/fuge to be ready, should be Friday night or Saturday sometime.

wish me luck! I hope I don't kill anything!!!!

And ya notice how you can NEVER make the rocks go back the way they fit or a coral to fit where it once did so? And how come I can have it all planned out in my head, yet the tank ends up looking hardly anything like it....lol

Chuck

Yup, those rocks certainly don't fit like a puzzle. They may work the first time, but not the second. As for planning it out, I am lucky if I get one rock to actually stay the way I want it too.

:rofl:I wish you the best of luck! May the fishes live to see you another day!

Hmm.... all this talk of aquascaping has gotten to me. I have 3 hours to kill today which should work out nicely (my tank is small). I can also finally move that hitchhiker mushroom off my frogspawn. You are a bad influence :headshake2:

Just for that, you have to post many pictures of your new aquascape. So there!

Also aquascaped to day. Lots of bad words were said. Looks decent now but if something else falls down so help me...those adhesives really aren't very sticky!

I'm done, pics will come shortly. I'm soggy, salty and tired and sad. I killed one of my yellowhead sleepers. The male, I think. I feel HORRIBLE. They were in a qt and I moved a rock to take out another fish I was selling for a guy and I started to sit the rock back down and felt something and picked it back up really quick. It was that fish, but he looked fine, but then about 30 minutes later, I came back in with another person buying another fish and found the male sleeper lying on his side and his mate sitting by him!

Now the guy who was buying the pair from me doesn't want just her of course because he was wanting to have the pair since it is so hard to find a paired up set of gobies of any sort. And I'm kicking myself for ever starting this crap. I just wanted to do my reef a little differently and be able to put things on the bottom and all over, without worrying about if it was going to get sand on it all the time. But I never wanted to hurt my fish. :wall: I feel so bad for the female. I don't know what to do. I guess I'll try to find her a home, but if I don't find one soon, I don't think she'll make it long in this qt by herself. I don't want to have to put her back in my tank and I can't put her in the sump, she'd eat all the pods out of the sand.

SIGH

on the upside, the new scape looks really pretty. Later....

I just recently reaquascaped my 65 to a SPS style tank (more leveling of rocks and surface area). Left the fish in there, have some pictures of me doing it if interested. Good luck

(sneaks into the salty room)

I just got down taking out and putting back in piles of rock to plant a onion...and I liked it the way it was...and now I can't get it back that way...and now I'm stopping and I'm not looking at the tank for 3 days before I go back to it...and my fish hate me !

Well, WOW, it looks really really pretty and it totally makes me miss my 75g plant tank and want to do it again! No time or budget for anything but my reef though! :grinno:
