How do you keep track of your tanks necessary maintainence?

I am beginning to see that I need some sort of a log book to record tank readings and water changes. Maybe this is because I have two relatively new tanks and feel the need to keep a tight eye on what is happening in them...

Tell me what you do to keep it all straight.

i just am consistent...its all in a routine. I also keep a small notebook and pen by the tanks to record parameters as necessary.

I use to record parameters...but not anymore. I have alerts in my phone for when I need to do maintenance on my filters (usually once a month), but WCs are every Sun. I need to keep up on trimming the plants, but I just like to see them do their own thing.

water changes every saturday
add ferts on saturday and wednesday (well, its just really Flourish for now )
stir up sand with every water change
"clean up" filter media every other water change
totally clean filter every month, usually the first saturday of the month

I do water changes on Tuesdays, ferts on a daily schedule alternating micro and macros. I do the filters as close to the first Saturday of the months as possible. I never test unless I have a problem so no need for a book.

The turtles get done on Thursdays.

I have a spreadsheet on my computer where I log everything: water changes, water params, additions, deaths, etc.

Me too, but I tend to be a bit too "organized" at times. I keep it now mostly to keep track of fry ages.

I used to log all my params and tank maintence but stopped a while ago...now I just do regular maintence every Weds.

Tell me what you do to keep it all straight.

Google Calendar is a big help. I created a calendar called "Aquarium Maintenance" and listed all the various tasks as all-day appointments. Each morning, I therefore get email reminders of what I need to do that day. Very handy! :thm:
