What are people's thoughts on those who go invisible mode, even though they're clearly posting? Been on my mind some.

No votes/altruistic votes are tough - it clearly hints at innocence/not wanting to lynch an innocent bystander - which then, means pretty much nothing, because mafioso's would jump on that seeming altruism as well. In that case, one would have to examine the context of communication... if that even tells you anything.

It's one of those great mysteries in life - kind of like how someone could name 99% of the mafia, in about two hours into the game. Perhaps that's the person who should be answering your question.

I don't know - on one hand if you're taking the fact that we're in the middle of a giant fish forum and not just a mafia game, it's somewhat cowardly. But then, I've been out of the game for a year, I just don't remember it being done before. So I'm undecided. But I have decided I won't be doing it myself.

You also missed one other thing in the rules. They can turn someone the 1st night. We'd still lose an innocent.

Bkw is the option on night 1 an either/or option? Do they get to invest or turn or hit or do they get a turn and hit/invest? I'm assuming its 1 of the 3 only.

I thought it was either or so that we'd lose only one to the mafia in the worst case.

Ice- IMO, who they are doesn't matter, but the fact that they chose to use an alias does. It tells me that they may want to use it to change their posting style and hide behind us not knowing who they are.



G- You've claimed two things already that make no sense and look like the comments are out there merely to incite people. Pretty shady to me...

HN, I disagree with you on the alias issue. In addition to allowing scum to hide behind a different posting style, an alias also allows an historically good town player to be somewhat shielded from a mafia hit/turn. Using an alias really tells us nothing one way or the other regarding a player's status.

With regard to your thoughts on LG, though, I agree that it looks like she may have gotten caught over-reaching. It's still early, so I'm not ready to vote her, but her actions have moved her up a little toward scum on my scumdar.

The easier way is simply mouse-highlighting over all the text (or Select All) on the forum screen. Everything shows up that way highlighted in blue.

In fact, I usually do this if someone's "color-bombing" a post... and by that I mean, red! and blue! and pink! and purple! and more red, and a little black... argh my eyes...

IMO the game is meant to be played based on what's typed in the thread. Whether somebody's name appears at the bottom of the page is irrelevant to their status (town/scum).

Nothing was being said one way or the other. I pulled some posts and brought them to attention to see who responded and with what.
If your screen isn't white the secret message would have been seen. Secret messages can only work if everyone used white screen. I knew it would be seen so it wasn't really a secret hidden message, no more then a disclaimer as some others like to put,just hidden. Wouldn't be any different then using black type on a dark screen.

Not voting IMO just gives mafia a place to hide and point at others.

The only bright side is that we possibly only lose 1 innocent, none if the Dr protects the right person.

Downside it really only becomes a 72 hour day instead of 48 hrs because we learn nothing and Day 2 really becomes Day 1. There won't be anymore talking then there is now.


NJ the way it was done was that game was by watching profiles and seeing they were PMing and why most everyone switched to invisible. If everyone went uninvisible PMs could be watched again. By staying invisible all the time it doesn't lend credence to they are invisible they must be mafia.

I agree with you, Ice that your 'hidden' message wasn't truly hidden from everyone. IMO, though, everyone should benefit from seeing the same message...regardless of background color. It keeps the field level for all players.

Also agree with the voting issue. There's really no reason for players to not cast votes on night one. Anyone NOT voting should be looked at very closely.

OK, I'm back from my foreign travels. Those asking questions must have been skimming when I said I would be away at a wedding in Louisiana until... well... now.

If you value your sanity, never attend a wedding (or stay the night) in Louisiana unless you are a drunk... although I see from earlier posts that... well... nevermind.
