Everywhere I look, I find these CF bulbs that are in the 3000K range. I'd really like a few screw in CF bulbs that are suitable for growing plants. 125 to 250 watt equivalents would be perfect. Any ideas as per where to source them?

Look for "daylight" on the packaging or display. Those are 6700K. you can find them at any hardware store. Home Depot, Lowes, Menards...etc..

Thanks Mgamer, Reddog, I'll check out the home depot tomorrow. Mattmartindrift, thanks for that website. The bulbs are crazy cheap!. I may have to source from them for my plants from now on!

I just retrofitted (last night) both of my 29g setups with 4 of these in each tank.

I plan on growing some medium light plants and will let you know how it turns out.

My "reflector" for right now is just some shiny aluminum foil, but I plan to get some mirrors from a craft store and cut them to shape and put them in there.

Highly polished Aluminum>mirror>Mylar film>White paint>>>Aluminum foil - as I understand it. I think the glass used in mirrors tends to absorb some of the lower wavelengths that are beneficial to plants (400nm range stuff).

side note.... if you painted it white it would reflect better then mirrors.

These are both valid points!
