luminous red shrimp?

I believe the flame comes from a German translation that is either Flame Red Shrimp or Red Flame Shrimp.....I don't remember which.

yeah, but frank also has cherry red shrimp.

there is a price difference too w/ frank. $3 for cherries, $7 for "luminous red shrimp"

Well its not that either... If you look at the site, he has all 3 of them listed as different species names! Kind of odd! He seems to know his stuff, but that is an odd listing!

liveaquaria has a pricey one called Crystal Shrimp which are supposedly different from Cherry Shrimp...

Crystal reds ARE different from cherries.

The one in Frank's website are both cherries. Luminous red and cherry shrimp, the color difference between the two varies in terms of how dark the color is. It's kind of like how some people call deep colored cherries "Sakura Shrimp" rather than "Cherry Shrimp".

Make the name extravagant and BAM, you instantly add 5 more dollars to the original price. Always try to look for the scientific name, rather than the common name if possible. It's the best way to tell if there are any differences.

Its not just a name. A lot of work went in to breeding them to be that color. That's why they cost more.

Maybe they get a grading system like crystal red & bee shrimp have. They are all the same species too but red & white or black & white, they sure look different even to a shrimp noob like me.

hmmm, luminous is far more catchy than cherry.
