My all glass tank is leaking very slowly from under the black trim in between the glass.

It is not coming from the silicone seals.

I want to know if this is a problem because i have to every day clean that right side of the the tank just in that 2inch wide path down the side with a razor blade because it drips so slowly that it cakes on to the glass. It reappears every day.

I called all glass and the tec said that it is normal but none of the other parts of the tank have this problem. She said to seal it wilth silicone but that there was an air pocket that is allowing water through.

should i do this or do you think that it poses a problem?

Also the tank is 3 years old and in perfect condition and i want ed to know if i make this modification to the tank if my warrenty would be void, or is the tank to old to be covered?

I'd drain and repair the correct way.

One of my 29 gallons leak from the top also if I have the waterline to the plastic rim, it doesn't leak if it is below the rim. So I just leave mine with about 1/2 inch below. If and when I break it down I will seal around the rim but I don't want to break it down if I don't have to. Nothings wrong with the glass, no cracks or breaks its just not sealed good around the rim where it attaches to the glass and the filter flow and condensation makes it drip when full. I bet that's what yours is doing.

It shouldn't leak if the water is below the top frame. If the water level is in contact with the frame at all then capillary action can draw the water up and over the top of the glass under the frame. There must be a break in the seal under the frame for the water to get out.

My 15 gallon hexagon leaked like that,i put a bead of silicon sealer around the under side of the plastic on the inside of the tank and it stopped

The water with the filter flow is at the bottom of the trim. Somehow it is traveling upward. The tank never came sealed at the top. They just sealed the bottom and the sides.
