How many of you have issues with your airstones?

Seems I am also having to fix mine. Either the airline got funky or somehow it, the airstone, got loose from the adapter that connects it to the airline. I have (2) 2" airstone.

No, I do not have any burrowing fish that would mess with it.

I like the effects of the bubbles and understand that the movement in the water with the O2 can help the fish, but it just seems it shouldn't be so troublesome. I do have a good pump and a good brass 4 way valve splitter.

Thanks much for your input and thoughts!

I got wore out with this and
  • [1] purchased quality bulk tubing which was a lifetime supply but cost less than I had already spent on the el cheapo tubing in the local fish stores. I was able to purchase the box shown in the back (500'). If you call MD ask for Ryan.

For folks who are budget constrained the el cheapo plastic fittings work just fine for low pressure aquarium applications except that the "fine tuning" takes longer with plastic valves than with brass valves.

BTW cm: are you CAD, CadCam or GIS, etc?

Every now and then i replace them, they get covered in algae, or become brittle, i also try to wipe them off when iam in there, my current ones are about 8 months old...........:)

Not uncommon at all. Tubing and the stones will clog from minerals and contaminates in the air.
