custom plexy lid top help

Okay, we are making a custom plexy lid for our 20L tank because of the HOB on the short end of the tank, well, I got a piece of plexy cut from lowes, but need a way to hinge it like the glass tops do. What do you think we should use??? we need help ASAP. thanks

You can attach ordinary hardware hinges to the plexi with stainless steel bolts and nuts; just drill the holes for the nuts slowly and carefully.

stainless is ok since it doesnt rust (it rusts but not for a LONG time).

Yeah, stainless is fine. You can also get plastic nuts and bolts.

I ahven't seen them, but I haven't looked. Plastic is not all that durable.

You really shouldn't need to worry about stainless steal...I've heard many people using it as plant anchors with no ill effects. If you happen to notice any rusting at all, and you feel like it should be replaced, just do it.
