10 gallon planted. Not really a newbie, but...

2 angels (both apparently males - chasing each other)
3 platys
1 pleco
2 mollies
1 male betta.

Absolutely no problems in the daytime - getting proper amount of food, Ph, nitrate, nitrite OK, but appaently at night both the angels are having their long dorsal fin torn (shame - they were lovely) as are all the betta fins.

All I can guess is the pleco, but I have had several of these before with no problem. I'm puzzled...:help:

The betta. A much larger tank would help, like a 30 -40 gal because of the angels. Is it a common pleco?

The tank is WAY to small for angels. What sort of pleco do you have? a lot of pleco grow very large.
What are your water pramerters? numbers please.
How oftern do you do water changes?

Right, the tank is too small and the fish are reacting with aggression. I would be willing to place my money on the angels getting into it and the betta getting caught up because of it.

Betta and Angels most likely.

I would bet that they are all nipping at each other due to the fact they are overcrowded. Generally, I would not put a betta with angels. The long fins on the betta and the angels are just too tempting for the betta and the angels to resist. I would see about getting a bigger tank for the angels and letting the betta have the ten gallon.
