Although this was deemed an accident from a huricane it shows how just 6-7 fish can turn into so many that entire ecosystems can be endangered.

Lionfish are the extreme example, but there have been sitings of things like yellow tangs, certain eel species, etc. as well.
that's amazing that a handful of fish could create such a HUGE problem... how terrible and fascinating...

Regardless, lionfish do not have natural predators. The impact in a foreign territory will be more than we can anticipate. Plenty of aquarium fish have already been banned in different countries just for the foreign species invasion.
