I am currently setting up my 55 gallon aquarium as a community with a pair of angels being the "centerpiece". for right now, (or better yet, for the first year or so, since it takes about that long for angels to pair off, from what i've read), i just want to see if I can bring up angels from eggs to full grown adults. I don't care much for a specific kind, or strand, or anything like that. but here's my question: I'll be getting my angels (and probably all of my fish) from Pet Depot (since its a franchised establishment, that may be a bad idea), and all of their angels are about quarter-sized. What i'm worried about is inbreeding, and just having generally "bad" offspring.. is this something to be concerned about, or would the angels still breed healthy offspring? I don't know anything about Pet Depot's suppliers...
Also, as far as feeding goes, I found some angel specialty food from drs foster & smith. is that necessary, or would any tropical flake food do? I don't want to buy the cheapest stuff out there, but i've never heard of anybody actually using food specifically for angels.
