Evil fish killing cousin

about a week ago i was in kentucky at my cousins house. and we went down to the river behind his house to catch some fish. well we came back with 2 small crayfish 2 western mosquito fish and 2 darterfish of some sort. well when we got back to his house we had to leave. well he decided he didnt want the fish in his tank when we got there and there was no time to go back down to the creek so instead of just setting them down and taking them back later he throws out the water on the road! i yelled at him dude! what the heck! and walked away, i couldnt watch the poor things flop on the hot concrete gasping for air. i just wanted to shout at him "DUDE CMON NOW (insert mean remark here)!". if hadnt lived 5 staes away i would have taken them with me. i cant believe he did that..:headshake2:
 
well hes 10 years old i think he should have know that was wrong. especialy when he knows im a fish finatic
 
Sounds like he needs a good older mentor that teaches instead of screaming.

Well, I agree with Len (Hooked Newbie). Honestly, you should have explained to him than to scream at him. He's 10 years old. He is still too young to understand why throwing the fish on the road is rather cruel. Show him your tanks and explain how much fish needs to well care for just as much as you enjoy the hobby.;)
 
so what exactly are we supposed to get out of this thread?? That is unfortunate. Hopefully he will learn to treat living things with more respect.
 
Nevermind the yelling ... a 10 year old certainly is old enough to understand about not purposefully harming other helpless living things. A ten year old is old enough to know not to kick the dog, squeeze the cat, stomp on garden toads and throw live fish in the street. He could have left them in the bucket for a day or two and returned the fish to the stream later. I have a 10 year old and I couldn't imagine him doing something like that.

Ah well, just don't go fishing with him again!
