I can no longer afford the electrical bills with 4 tanks going. I had to put my 10 gallon, and my 55 up for sale. I do hope I get what I am asking for, but not sure I did not ask to much.

I do have to emperiors on the 55 gallon tank, and a stealth heater, glass tops and a corallife light 130 watts 48 inches. and the nice stand.
I asked 150.00 was that to much?
it made me sad today, but here in Montana the utilitiy bills hit the roof. winter will kill me.
I am going to keep my 29 up, its so nicely planted . whats funny is I wanted big fish and a bigger tank just can no longer afford them.
You all have taken me thru ick, plants, how to get my tanks up, running and so much more.My endless threads and questions, thank you for putting up with me :grinyes:
I have gotten plants, fish, shrimp, and snails from you all and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
this hobby is expensive. I found this out the hard way. but I am happy I still get to keep a tank up as I do not think I could ever not have a tank to look at and to enjoy. I am going to limit the fish in that tank, and add my shrimp and snails to it.
Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart! you have all been wonderful, kind and helpful.

So sorry to hear that Granny! :(

The price you are asking is very fair IMO. Keep your head up and keep posting!

:) Good luck with the sale of 55, I think $150. is a good deal with all the extras you're throwing in. I'm glad your keeping one tank up!

If you have good window light, you could switch to low tech/ low fish population/ plant tanks.

that is sooo sad.. i would hate to have to sell my tanks.

Sorry to hear that...but the tanks you have wouldn't add anything significnt to a utility bill...

Oh Karla! I feel for you from the very bottom of my heart! You have such dedication and care so much for your critters and fish! You have done a wonderful job doing the very best for them. I will be thinking of you, and if you need a shoulder or someone to talk to, please seek me out! I hope that you continue to enjoy the tank that you are keeping and that all continues well in your life. I understand the energy costs and its very responsible of you to realize the situation before its dire. Good for you for doing the right thing. Best of luck!

As long as you have a tank you are still gonna be here , right ?
I cut back on my power consumption as a result of the economy. If you remember my 120 in wall was planted with metal halides and a chiller . I have turned it into a coldwater tank for my goldies with a vho and a power compact. I also cut down my lighting schedule on the 125. I installed my auto co2 system from the 120 on the 125 and stopped using excel and nitrogen on that tank.
Be happy that you can still enjoy the hobby .

I am sorry that the hard times are taking a toll on the hobby that you love. Kudos to you for being pro-active. It is good that you at least get to keep one tank. Things will turn around....Stay positive and best of luck to you. Let's pray for a mild winter in Montana.
