I don't know if I should congratulate you on the 1/2 year mark of taking a 2 month vacation...... The water clarity looks great and I am envious of your pristine sandbed (no cyano or diatoms). Can't wait to see your next steps.
You mentioned the lighting wasn't great....any plans to update the lighting?
I have been looking at the red scallop clams (I'm blanking on the name....flame scallops maybe)...have you considered those? I never see them in other people's tank which makes me wonder if they are safe. Gorgeous, regardless though!

Hey thanks, it's funny taking time away and coming back to the tank. I used to have my hands in it every day, I come back the tank is just overgrown, and trates high but otherwise in remarkable healthy condition.
Lights right now are minimal. I have a marine glo and life glo I think, just the small ones that fit the hood. It's a fish only, so lighting isn't real important. My new tank will get good lights etc.
Of course now that I skip days feeding, done some water changes, cleaned the glass it doesn't look like this anymore
Bottom pic is of my "rio" nano skimmer, that thing works overtime, but I really like it. The tank wasn't dumped once while I was gone, usually I dump it once ever two or three days.
