They are about 6 inches and I believe one is male and one is female.

I don't have to vaccuum the sand , they sift it constantly and it never collects waste (me likey that)

nah what I meant was I thought that there was a big risk of them swallowing too much sand and dieing? If this isn't the case I might swap out substrates in my goldfish tank also
