That seems like a pretty fair price. I want to first check and see what it costs to send a Priority Mail box. A flat rate Priority Envelope probably wouldn't be very good for shipping plants - they may get smashed. What do you think?
All you plant shippers out there - please tell me the best package to ship them in.
Would it be possible to tell us your nutrient dosages, lighting, co2 rate, etc?!
Excellent tank......I wish I could get this growth without the algae, I've been trying now for 2yrs.
3.7 wpg / pressurized Co2 at 23 ppm (a ladder getting about 140 bpm).
25% water changes twice a week (you can never change the water too much).
I dose a steady schedule, currently adding Flourish twice a week (with water change). I also add Flourish Excel daily (I know it's overkill - I used it before the Co2 was turned up and will probably stop dosing Excel after I run out). I add Flourish Iron 4 times a week. In addition, I use Pfertz Potassium, Phosphorus, and Nitrogen daily.
I was considering dosing with dry ferts - but it's kinda' like if it ain't broke don't fix it! Tough to change.
I did have some algae (basically green and green spot on the glass) when I turned it up, but found that having a lot of thriving plants certainly helps limit / end algae growth.
Another thing I did to control algae was split my photoperiod - usually 8am until 1pm and then again from 3pm until 8pm. This split is when the little bit of algae I did have was really put under control.
