0.1 gallon femto tank journal

this is my very first attempt at creating a planted tank. Please advise if I'm doing anything wrongly. I create mini marimo balls (the smallest on the right is about 6mm) and uses very short strands of what I suspect are Asian Ambulia. (please correct me if it's wrong!) I'm doing partial water changes with a 5ml syringe and have a normal halogen lamp shining over it as well as indirect sunlight daily. This has been set up for about a week and you can see the Ambulia growing offshoots in the left plant.

How you going to do a water change, drink and spit?

haha no. I've been using a 5ml syringe to change the water.

I dunno, maybe I am missing the point here.. Think that "tank" would look better if you added some ice cubes and a bit of Jack Daniels...

Very cool. Looks nice. Ambulia, under the right conditions can grow very fast and gets large. There might be a more sutible subsitute but I wouldn't know what that is.

Halogen is right up there with incandescent as far as usable light for plants. Id go for a cheap spiral cf from walmart.

it's actually a mini glass vase. here's a shot of the 'tank' from the top. it's kind of a pointy oval and so I had to use tweezers to fit everything in
