There is nothing wrong with fishless cycling. Everyone has their preferred way. The issue about a fishy cycle is that most folks are not experienced enough or dedicated enough to make it work with no or minimal affect on the fish. No one way is perfect for all.
 
very true. My reply was more specific to plantbrain's post earlier in the thread. He had his points and at that time I did not have any experience to agree or disagree. Now that I do, I wanted to share it :)
