So I went out and bought flourish excel yesterday and started dosing. I also bought some plant gro spikes and put them under my plants. We'll have to see what happens.

I'll post some pics when my plants start to grow out.

A quick question though. About how often do I dose the excell?

Also anyone else that has flourish in their tanks , I'm sure it has phosphorus in it but do your tanks glow under blacklight from the phosophiorus flourescing? I put a blacklight on my tank for my glofish and when it got dark the entire water glowed green/blue.

Depending on lighting and plant load, dosing can vary from every other day to everyday, at 1-2x recommended daily dose.

And dont think I have ever tried lighting my tank with a black light but I dont think I keep phosphorous at a high enough level to see my water glow.

Could you explain that a little more?

I have a triple tube t8 fixture with 2 all-glass 30w aquarium & plant lights and an exo-terra tropical terrarium uv light @ 40w. The blacklight is just an 18" fixture that I turn on when people are looking at my tank.

Oh if you have glofish the reptile lights make them glow more btw.

Yeah, thats what I figured you thought, no problem I didn't really put enough information up there.
Still wondering about what the blue and red lights mean. Do you mean like blue or red led's?

Oh this is offsubject but what do you think of rcs in this setup?
I love rcs.

Noticed some, well quite abit of algea today. Do I dose less or just break down and buy a nerite snail?
