Marine Diseases

All I'm saying is that if you want to learn, you have to be willing to do some legwork. No one is going to spoonfeed you every little piece of information you desire.

Ok I got it. Now here is another question for you. I want to keep marine fish in beach water. I have 20g full of it with 5 hermits and 1 clam and 4 small crabs. Tell me would the water be fine to keep fish or not?

Some people use natural seawater - I do not. you don't know whats in it as far as pollutants, and no guarantee on nitrates or phosphates but at least you can measure those. I use Reef Crystals marine mix for my sw.

If it is deadly for fish then it would be deadly for hermits and clam too?

Barnacles are really growing fast. And Two of my hermits molted and changed shells. Is it a good sign?

beach water is a bad idea as there could be anything in it....better off making your own saltwater....theres plenty of brands to salt mix out there and most are very good..also using ro water is highly reccomended rather than raw tap water....hope that helps.

I once saw local city aquarium staff collecting water from the beach LOL. I asked them what they were doing and also how will they put the water in the tanks. They told me the collected water will be filtered and then put directly in the tanks. They were just filtering it for sand.

Another one of those folks who asks a question and then knows more than the folks trying to help out. SHEESH!! :wall:

So, I wne to the public aquarium and saw the whole process of filteration, water changing and also funny to see a turtle's back being scrubbed. LOL
