Welp, it looks like my Hagen Bio-Co2 system isn't working.

I'm incredibly impatient.

I just set it up. The mixture has been in there for about 3 hours, and still no bubbles. I've read multiple account of people seeing bubbles after just 40 minutes, so I wonder what's going on? Should I just give it until morning?

I wonder, does the system not work if you put too much sugar into the solution? I put what I thought was enough sugar to the "first line"...but I couldn't really see any line on the inside of the container. Does anyone know how much sugar goes into the mixture for the size of the Hagen canister?

Sorry for being impatient, I'd just like to fix the solution tonight if it's wrong.

Thanks!

How did you mix the solution. Usually thats the number one cause of it not working, also if there is a check valve on it, did you install it the right way?

I don't believe that there is a check valve. The again, I don't exactly know what a check valve looks like...

I made the solution by first putting in the sugar, then putting in the pre-packaged "Activator" and "Stabilizer". Then I put in lukewarm water to the top, and closed the lid a few seconds later (the time it took to walk from the sink to the tank).

There seems to be some liquid in the tube connecting the canister to the diffuser ladder.

i find it works a lot better to dissolve the sugar in water first, then dissolve the yeast in warm (NOT HOT) water before pouring it into the sugar water.

There shouldn't be liquid in the tubing though...

So do you think I should dump it out and start over?

mine took 2 full days to produce now it wont stop hehe....next time use your own sugar and yeast....lasts only a week but you get better control and almost instant bubbles.. also the reactor ladder doesnt work well clean....let it slime up in your tank and the bubble madness will begin....make sure you placed the tip in correctly or the bubs will not diffuse

Alright, then I suppose I'll wait a few days. Diezle, can you tell me where the "first and second lines" are? I couldn't see them on the inside OR outside of the Hagen canister.

Thanks!

did you just buy it?

Yes, I did. Apparently new ladders don't let the bubbles slide very easily, so I will let the ladder slime up a bit as suggested a few posts up before I give up on this solution and make a new one.
