Did you know about the new eBay rules?

I still buy from ebay occasionally. Just bought some replacement filter cartridges for my emp 400 this morning.

regarding oodles of money. This is a free market system (or at least SHOULD BE) and they have a product or a service, they can charge whatever they deem fit and that will be supported. Once a product becomes too expensive, people will stop using said service and Ebay, will understand that and lower the price.

Just because they have lots of money and you don't doesn't mean you need to launch class warfare. They are every bit entitled to that money. Same goes for just about any business. If you think its too much, fine, stop buying/selling from them, but don't launch an all out assault on them.

thats terrible for sellers, and I actually wanted to start selling things there. anyway,

if you know, let me know, I purchased 100 Opae Ula shrimp on ebay last month, the seller shipped them through usps(she told me she would use fedex).

She put 50 shrimp in a water bottle with less than an inch of air at the top. NOthing to hold onto, and put them in a sealed foam cooler inside a larger box. they all died.

she said she would replace the shrimp with no extra charge, but its going on the 3rd week she said she would ship, and still has not sent them.

I told her how to ship them, and she didnt take my advice, if this happens again, or if she never sends the shrimp am I out of my money?

If you paid with Paypal you can submit a dispute. I have only had to do this once. It took about 2 months, but Paypal did eventually refund my money.
If you didn't use paypal then yes, you are probably out your money.

When i say theres no protection for sellers i really mean it.I once read an article in ebay where a person bought a 400.00 camera said it didn't work contacted the seller and he said to just return it.Well needless to say he got a box in the mail but it wasn't a camera but a box of rocks. So the seller was out the money and camera

So you are saying the seller is an idiot for refunding the money before receiving the item? That situation could have easily been avoided with very simple common sense.
That doesn't mean that sellers have no protection. It means that it is up to the sellers to protect themselves. As they should IMO. It isn't hard to take very simple precautions as a seller. I sold successfully on eBay for awhile. Just like anyone else, I got the occasional scammers. It's not very hard to avoid them by taking some precautionary measures which is the norm in e-commerce. Just as one example, not shipping an item before a check clears. IMO it shouldn't be up to eBay or anyone else but the sellers to protect the sellers.
They try and protect buyers simply to try and diffuse some of the fears of purchasing on eBay hence promoting sales on their site.
Any seller who doesn't take the time to protect themselves shouldn't be a seller.

To be honest, I have not heard anything about that story until you told it. I can't debate what I don't know. All i can say is that I have been using Paypal for years. I have never had any problems. As I stated earlier, i have been fortunate enough to only have one issue buying online that I needed to file a dispute. Paypal was slow (imo) to resolve it, but they did eventually resolve it. Something about that story just doesn't add up the way you told it.
