Anyone know what kind of spider this is?

I really wish I knew who it was.. Probably the same people who killed a neighborhood cat, I had to hold him in the last moments of his life because of those sickos.

There is someone on another fishy site that that starts an "m" who talks about shooting strays.. gah I wanted to get into it with him but being immature doesn't help a thing.

Agreed. Stooping to their level simply provokes an even more irrational and illogical response... and will likely further usher their views of the matter into even more sinister ideas. Why throw gasoline on the fire? Someone just ends up getting burned as it rages on. :\

I've talked to several people who intentionally target ground squirrels and the such if they happen to notice them while at the shooting range. I cannot justify this action. If I were hunting for the sake of survival, I'd target something adequate to provide nourishment, or depending on the circumstance, whatever opportunistic catch I could get. Shooting them just for the sake of "fun" is certainly not "fun" in my mind.

I hate spiders! They are my only real fear in life. This is a horrible thread and should be closed. In addition all spider threads, discussions, and photos should be permanently banned for ever and ever and ever! :silly:

Boy do I have a bunch of pictures to PM you.. I have quite the spider collection in my house... from tiny jumping spiders to bird eating tarantulas.

I have actually had a tarantula. An attempt to over come my fear. When I was in the reptile business I got a Sunburst Baboon from a supplier of mine for $5. i figured a $35 (retail) spider for $5 might as well try it. If you know anything at all about spiders, you know I made a HUGE mistake choosing a SB as a beginner T. Super fast and super aggressive among other things. Very long story short the experience ended with me digging through a trash can with a pair a grill tongs and welding gloves where it had jumped when it escaped. Then with me screaming like a girl when it came running out of the trash after me. I was able to contain the spider without killing it and gave it back to the guy I got it from. The experience left me scarred (in a somewhat amusing way) and very clear on why I was afraid of them in the first place. It was a very educational experience.

I must say.. starting with old world Ts is not a good thing :D
Maybe a nice Chaco or rosie? lol
I have to say, I have lots of crickets around, in my spider tanks, and they do not help me et over my fear of them.. The day my cricket tank's top broke open.. in my room.. people 5 miles away must have though I had been being stabbed. 50+ crickets.... everywhere...
.

Sorry to derail your thread.. I love spidies.

Hahaha its all good, this is really funny. I can picture myself with the tongs and gloves trying to fish the thing out of the trash can too. I'd feel bad if I hurt the poor little bugger... but I'm horribly afraid of spiders. I can deal with crickets... been covered in 'em on more than one occasion. It tickles. :p:
