great deal

Just use a hand mister unless you will be too busy to mist the tank regularly(1x-3x a day, depending on tank/relative humidity). As far as a cheap system, check out Zoo-med(I think its them), they make a decent mister for like $70

A veild is one of the easier chameleons to keep. Vumidity can be variable but I've found mine to like it on the drier side. As for an automatic mister, just use a shallow dish with an airstone hooked up to a pump. Don't give them too much water though, they aren't the brightest creatures and can drink themselves silly, filling thier lungs in the process. They will also get big. The 65 is fine. I had mine sitting on the windowsill and it ate a passing sparrow (Don't ask me how, I just heard a squak and saw a wing and tailfeathers out of his mouth) .. oh and he ate my juvie waterdragon too.

Just get a spray bottle and mist the cage at least in the morning and evening. More if it's too dry. But yeah Veilds don't need as high of humidity as some of the other species.

also if i have an auto mister......wont that get everything around the tank soaked lol. bcuz wont the water go through the mesh? yeah. and also just to make 100percent sure. a 65 gal is enough......

i read on several caresheets that a cham wont recognise a dish or standing water as a source of hydration. and also for what im getting is it worth 170$

ADult veils were selling for around $70 here locally, so take that into consideration.... I would try to knock the price down a tad(how new are the uvb bulbs?) to maybe 130-150.

Correct. In the wild they lap up drops of water off of leaves. What you can do is make a homemade drip system. All you do is get a one of those plastic Solo cups and poke a small hole in the bottom and fill it with water and place it on top of the cage where it can drip onto some leaves below. All my chameleons also learned to drink water from the end of a spray bottle. It was pretty funny how excited they acted when I would stick the bottle in the cage. They would crawl over and lick the water drops at the end of the nozzle.

so they cant be given water from a dish with a bubbler. this would be more convenient. although normally animals try to be as inconvinient as possible. the set mustve sold bcuz its no longer there. so if i want to buy a setup ill have to find the stuff myself. i found an 260 gal (30x30x71in) for 80 bucks. its that alumnum frame with the special mesh. the chamelion for 40bucks.....but how much are lights? i would like to get the 260 but i may have to go smaller bcuz i cant find a place to put it.

Well you can try to give them water from a bowl with a bubbler in it but I don't know if they'd drink it or not. Spraying the cage twice a day with a spray bottle doesn't come get much easier if you ask me. That 260 gallon sounds like a great size for most large chameleon species. Just put up a UVB tube light above the cage and put one or two spot light heat bulbs for the basking areas. You could also look at ceramic heat elements for heating the basking spots. They last longer then regular bulbs and they use less power. The downside is that they don't produce any light.

the only prob with the 260 is after measuring ive discovered i have no room for it. the only option i currently have is a 65 as the maximum. will this be plenty enough?
