My Tiger Barb is white... i think it didnt developed its real colour... i tried to feed him with colour enhancing flake food for atleast 3months... still his white... i dont know whats the probelm but i think its my tank... does the environment of the tank affects the fish colour? if so, what can i do to give him good colour? currently his in my 20g tank with white pebbles and artificial plants and some drift woods

if everything hed ever see was white, i suppose hed lighten up.

if he looks like that than hes just albino

:iagree:If he is not an albino tiger barb, then I would change gravel or mix it with one of a darker color.

Yes. The males will have an orange nose and a little orange on his fins, and the females are pretty pale.

Another important thing to remember about the tiger barbs, is that they should be in groups of at least 5 of them. Apparently, yours is alone in a 20gal tank. If that is the case and you have room for it (I don't know if there are other tank mates), add at least 4 more tiger barbs. He will be happier and this maybe will help him also to color up.
Good luck, kishnik!

thanks for the reply guys but i think my tiger barb is not an albino... i have at least 15 of them in my friends tank... all silverish/white... i guess i need to change gravel or mix it with darker color as what efors said... ill try that ASAP... i hope this will do good... i was not expecting they will grow silverish/white... btw, how many days do you think theyll get their original colour?

thanks to everyone :D
