Check Valves?

So I'm putting together a DIY CO2 system. Basically I'm planning something like this:

Where does the check valve come into place though? Is it right where the first tube comes out of the 2liter bottle?

I put mine after my generator and before the air stone. I didn't use a second bottle, though. Pardon my ignorance, but what is its purpose? I would think you shouldn't need a check valve with the second bottle, but at <$2, go for it.

from my understanding, it's to help reduce build up of any yeast in the air tubing.

Agreed, inline to keep water from coming back out of the tank.

The 2nd bottle is a bubble counter/gas separator. Meaning, with DIY co2, sometimes yeast spores make their way up the tubing, this keeps them out of the tank. I put a 6 to 1 dilution of bleach in mine, prevent that DIY CO2 funk that often pops up in your fish tank.

you would but it between the tank and the 2nd bottle that will stop tank water from backing up into the diy bottle.... the 2nd bottle is for bubble counting its a easy way to see how well your diy is working.
actually, mg, it is for making sure no yeast gets into the tank, but that seems a good use for it...
