So I started my CO2 system about 2 weeks ago with a Jello CO2 mix. however, it has started to slow down (definitely noticing less bubbles).

i've heard that with Jello CO2 you have to pour out the top liquid every so often (every 2 weeks actually, lol). So do I literally just open up the bottle and pour some of it out? Do I need to add more yeast / water?

edit: actually, I just realized that it's only been a week. why is it slowing down already? what could i have done wrong when I made the mixture?

Have you tried cubing the jello, like Rex Grigg suggested?

Whats the room temperature?
Try swirling the bottle a bit so the bottom sugary jello mix gets incorporated more into the top yeast mix.

As riiz stated it helps when you cube the jello so theres more surface area for the yeast to act upon. I didnt do that the first time and saw so so results.. (though in the end went back to the regular basic diy co2 mix since it was more convenient)

And yes when its time to recharge the top, you simply pour the whole top yeast mix out and replace it with the new.

I swirled it around and its back to normal. next time I do this I'll cube the jello...does that just mean cut it up? like in the bottle? because I make it in the 2L bottle and I can't see how you can get cubes in through the top.
