Petsmart Vs Petco

It depends on the managers and employees imo. But, petsmart for me... I get some good support from the fish department workers. For petco, you have to call them out

Petco never has anybody working in aquatics and sometimes I'll wait/look around for 45+ minutes. There's always somebody at petsmart working in aquatics. They have nicer plants also.

yeah generally that happens with all my fish... moving them i mean... i got like three turquoise severums and they all turned blackish for the first couple days but eventually turned a nice lime green!!

my petco was awesome.... 10 years ago before petsmart came around. haha..

.... ooooh speaking of weird colors... i was at petco the other day(had to bag my fish myself hahaha sucky service) and i saw an all White golden severum. Soi thinking it was poor tank strees or whatever bought and took it home... a week later it is still all WHITE!!!

yep, had to do self service myself and net my own fish,which is good. Think of wat you can do with a net and no one around. .......

I would like to just have any pet store within 30 minutes. The closest chain is about 70 miles.

I picked up some mollies from petco. I put them in the tank without QT and they brought some disease that killed 4 fish, including it's self.

Complete opposite here. The Petco ones have deep, very nice colors, and the petsmart ones aren't very colorful. I'd say color can determine health.

The Petco near me has a different, stronger lighting than the petsmart, It makes the colors look better. In my opinion.

This is pointless since chain pet stores vary according to locale. Depending on who is running a particular store, a chain store has the potential to be good, mediocre or bad.
If you are going to compare them, be specific to a certain area. Without this information, the advice is going to be useless for someone in another area.
