Petsmart Vs Petco

Petsmart, the Petco here is terrible, there aren't many fish in their tanks and they're not well taken care of.
 
I'm sure with a little TLC your fish will brighten right up!

Also, from my own experiences, I've noticed that added variety in their diet makes them color up quite a bit more as well. My fish are extremely spoiled!
 
I only buy food/dechlor from petsmart because they price match. I get my fish from a non-chain LFS instead. I do look at the fish at the chain stores and their selections suck usually.
 
I have to agree with everyone else too, PM has healthier fish,but it really depends on the store itself. Would be best to feed your tiger barbs a wide variety of live food for color.
 
I got harley rasbora's from 2 different stores. The ones from my lfs were brightly colored when I got them, the ones from Petsmart were all silver and black, no orange at all. After a few days, when they settled into my tank, they colored right up. I'm sure your fish will be fine with some good care. Good luck with them!
 
I would get my fish from the LFS Eddies Aquarium, but due to the extreme health and care of the fish they're priced like $4 more than ones at petco/petsmart

Though they do have good deals on schools. Schools of 6 are usually all 13.99 on small species (neons, etc)

EDIT: What type of live food do I feed them? Bloodworms?
 
It depends on the managers and employees imo. But, petsmart for me... I get some good support from the fish department workers. For petco, you have to call them out
