Ok i just got back from petsmart today, and while i was there, they had plastic cylinders of aquatic plants, no water in the cylinder, just air, and on the shelves. How are these aquatic?

sweet.
so i just can't go in and buy an "aquatic" plant ive never heard of before lol thanks :)

Most of them are bog plants, and some bog plants can be grown emersed. I bought 2 of the swords, one was argentine sword and the other basitine(spelling?) sword, only the argentine turned out to be able to go fully emersed.

They have the scientific names on the tubes, if you google em you can avoid any mishaps.

ooh thats a really good idea, thanks!

Wow, I guess I am really lucky. I live in the San Joaquin Valley of California. At one time or another, someone has dumped an aquarium containing some of these plants into it. A lot of them have become weeds which cannot be eradicated. Elodea is abundant, java fern, java moss, duckweed, etc. Most all of my plants have come from the sloughs or waterways around the area. I read about how these water plants have become serous weeds in other areas also, it may pay one to look around in their area(s.)

Regards,
JS

By "into it", I mean the San Joaquin Delta" ... sorry about that ...

They have even caught Pacu, a cichlid or two and other tropical fish out of this delta area ...
