Good Morning Guys

I always see this plant at the LFS but they call it floating plants

Can someone please help me with a better name and also are they floating plants or can one actually plant them

I ended up buying like a string just to try

Anacharis?
 
I agree, it definetely is anacharis. You can plant them too, but they have very weak roots, so don't put them with a fish that likes to stri things up, like a pleco.
 
The lighting is a bit harsh but I agree it is likely anacharis. It does best as a floater, especially if you have low lighting. You may be able to coax it into staying in one place by gently wrapping it around something in a low flow part of the tank. Planting it in the substrate usually just stresses it.
