Here a pic of my angel fish... I think it is getting its fins nipped but they don't look too good. Should i wait and see if it gets worse or is there something i should be doing now?

I don't see anything in your stock that would be nipping the angels fins, and the angels fins looks fine to me for a veil tail (I am no expert though). Is there anything in the tank that it might be catching its fins on? If you are worried then daily water changes will help out.

I bet that's a great looking stock you have, 24 tetras must be a cool sight.

I am talking about the elongated fins. I don't know what they are called i will look in a minute.

You would think it would look nice and I thought so as well but the tetras are incredibly disorganized :)

I guess it would be his pelvic fins

I think you are worrying over nothing, I am sure someone with more expertise will chime in, but nothing looks really wrong to me.

The tetras probably don't feel threatened and so are happy to be disorganized :)

The are called ventral fins. it looks like they have a touch of fungus or bacterial infection. It is hard to tell which from the picture. You can try extra water changes forst and see if that helps. melafix can help mwith mild problems and is very benign. My preference for fungal treatment is Maroxy by Mardel and my first line of defence for bacterial fin problems is erythromycin aka EM- this is the primary ingredient of Maracyn, also by Mardel.

Treating with any antibiotic can result in losing some of the good bacteria. So it is very important to monitor for ammonia during treatment and deal with it quickly if you see it. I would not go this route unless the other things mentioned above have been tried and failed to work or if the problem worsens.

One last note- the Maroxy and EM/Maracyn can safely be used in combination when the need arises.

There is nothing wrong with that Angel at all.

If there is fungus growing I don't see it I think its just the picture.

My first treatment if there is fungus growing would be to treat with aquarium salt 1tbs per 10g in a qt tank.

I would prefer a better shot of that angel.

Sorry for the ridiculous delay. They seemed to be fine after my original post but I think whatever happened has returned. So could just be a very light infection that he is naturally able to recover from.
I don't have the lemon tetras in the tank anymore, since I am treating them in a QT. So I will see what happens after that time. I know they are not known to be fin nippers(which is why I got them..) but I suppose it is possible.
