Getting my plants to grow faster?

I've got a 10g low light planted tank in it with various plants (jave fern, duckweed, wisteria(i think) and some others...I am NOT a plant expert!

occupants are:

corries
ghsot shrimp
a blue mystery snail
and a VERY docile mail betta (he loves it in there!)

Im dosing with flourish and also have no root tabs in there as i still need to buy them...Ideas on how to get faster growth? Should I use with excel on the roots of the plant? Or just get it into the water?

You can either go with Excel, which you dose in the water column and preferably away from the fish or DIY CO2. With Excel start with the lowest dose recommended, and watch your plants for signs of melt or decay.

What is your light wattage? Before dosing excel, or really changing your set up, which it looks as tho you have a good one atm. You need to evaluate what you want to change. Everything has be remain in balance or you will end up with undesired results, such as algae. Adding excel without compensating with lights and ferts will create an imbalance. Just adding one thing most likely is not going ot help you, it all needs to be done in conjunction to keep everything balanced..

Hahaha...I know, I know. My room is a complete disaster at the moment. There's gravel EVERYWHERE. I'm definitely looking into a stronger light souce (my dad works for an electrical supply company)... I cant remember what the wattage is, so I'll have to go and check.

Even with uping the wattage and perhaps the fert dosing to follow, the plants you have are relatively slow growers. Well, except duckweed...that stuff grows fast!

If you upgrade anything first, always improve your Carbon source first, DIY/Pressurized CO2 or Excel. Lighting should always be the limiting factor in a planted aqaurium.
