im gonna buy some occellated shell dwellers soon for arakris, and im so excited! i cant wait to get the cute lil guys home!!!!
what are possible tankmates for them????

how much are u paying for them?????

i want some too!!

What size tank is it?

If smaller than 20, even 30 gallons I wouldn't recommend any tankmates except the possible livebearer/rainbow option that could work out. But if you are looking for more tanganyikan cichlids you'll need more space than that...

(perhaps a move to the cichlid forum)

depending on tank size julidochromis would fit the order with tankmates..

Congratulations on the Occies! I just got 4 of them myself. They are the neatest thing in my population so far. I will put my headphones on, and crawl into bed (30 gallon tank is on my dresser next to my bed) listen to my music and just watch these guys. I have had them about a month now.

The four of them were in a 10 gallon. And they were fine for a while...then I noticed one of the females was getting pushed out. So, into my 30 they are. I agree. julidochromis will do well with the occies, or at least from what I have heard.

The most important thing is not to get another shell dweller species, otherwise wars will happen. You are better going with rock/cave spawners for tank mates. Good Luck!

yeah my 55gal shellie tank is just right as of now, i have multi's on the left side in a colony i have a mated pair of julidochromis transcript's in the middle and a small colony of brevis that stay on the right side with no issues, i have a ton of shells for my shellies like 4 shells to each shell dweller so that they have alot of retreats..
