Nitrite filter sounds like a biofilter to many of us. Is this some kind of chemical filter that is located in your filter?
I can get some mature filter floss..now what??

well the idea is to get the bacterial cycle working. if that is working then you don't require chemical means. bacteria, and normal water changes, are all you need.
To be honest I dont know.. its a green 'nitrate' sponge..

yeah I don't know much about them.. never use. Was just getting at the idea that you don't want anything in there to remove amonia or nitrite as you want to get the cycle going.
not sure what that one does. normally you would remove nitrates with regular wc...
It says nitrate removal, so i guess it won't hurt anyway. I have plants eating a lot of mine
