Why I Hate Black Friday...

Sad that people who live in one of the wealthiest countries on earth have to stampede just to save a few dollars. They have no idea how good they have it.

I am trying to figure out when the black friday madness started.

Does anyone remember when people were fighting each other for cabage patch babies? I think that is when people first started going crazy on black friday. Maybe 1983.

When did this madness start?

This is tragic if true I did a search and this has the air of a hoax it was first picked up over seas then Reuters than only a few stories that include unions asking for a safe work place investigation.

in comparison the sad and tragic story of the Toys R us shooting has 1700 stories and that was not shopping related.

not like they do on Black Friday...people run into the stores and just grab random things of any sort off the shelves. some of the time they dont even know what they are buying.

Three years ago I decided to give Black Friday a try. Wal*Mart had a pretty good price on an MP3 player that I wanted. The store opened at 5 am, and I figured I'd just get up early and beat the crowd. I arrived at the store at 5:05 am, and the parking lot was a madhouse. Got in the store, it was people elbow to elbow throughout most of the store.

Quickly made my way to the electronics section where it was really crazy, as they were offering a plasma TV for $1000 (hundreds of people were already lined up for that). I finally tracked down an employee to find out where the sale MP3 players were and she pointed me to a display....it was completely wiped out. Great.

Fortunately, I decided to walk around a little bit, hoping someone may have grabbed one, and decided not to buy it...and just set it down elsewhere. Much to my surprise, I found one of the sale MP3 players just sitting on a display in the housewares section. I grabbed it and headed to the checkout.

The funny thing at the checkout was that while I was waiting in line, an elderly lady and her grown daughter came up to me, as they saw I was holding the sale MP3 player. Each of them were holding one also. The elderly lady says to me... 'Excuse me, sir. What exactly are these things?'

Here I really wanted the MP3 player, and almost didn't get one...and these two women didn't even know what they were, but they got theirs. :swear:

they just grabbed em thinhkin they looked cool and wanted to ask you what was up with it...........................no need to get all :swear: and angry

Or they may have grandkids that asked for them and they got them even tho they did not know what they were....
