not like they do on Black Friday...people run into the stores and just grab random things of any sort off the shelves. some of the time they dont even know what they are buying.
Three years ago I decided to give Black Friday a try. Wal*Mart had a pretty good price on an MP3 player that I wanted. The store opened at 5 am, and I figured I'd just get up early and beat the crowd. I arrived at the store at 5:05 am, and the parking lot was a madhouse. Got in the store, it was people elbow to elbow throughout most of the store.
Quickly made my way to the electronics section where it was really crazy, as they were offering a plasma TV for $1000 (hundreds of people were already lined up for that). I finally tracked down an employee to find out where the sale MP3 players were and she pointed me to a display....it was completely wiped out. Great.
Fortunately, I decided to walk around a little bit, hoping someone may have grabbed one, and decided not to buy it...and just set it down elsewhere. Much to my surprise, I found one of the sale MP3 players just sitting on a display in the housewares section. I grabbed it and headed to the checkout.
The funny thing at the checkout was that while I was waiting in line, an elderly lady and her grown daughter came up to me, as they saw I was holding the sale MP3 player. Each of them were holding one also. The elderly lady says to me... 'Excuse me, sir. What exactly are these things?'
Here I really wanted the MP3 player, and almost didn't get one...and these two women didn't even know what they were, but they got theirs. :swear:
