I recently started my own Day Zero Project...it's a lot of fun, so I wanted to share the idea with everyone. You may have already heard of it...

The project comes from: http://triplux.com/dayzero/

Basically, you create a list of 101 things that you want to do or should do. Then you give yourself 1001 days to complete all the tasks. It's lots of fun and can make your life much more interesting for the next 1001 days! The 101 things can be anything you want....from random fun things to serious real life stuff. It's all about personal growth.

I made the yahoo! group so that people can get help creating their lists, chat about their progress, post pictures, and offer support and encouragement to one another.

Here are some examples from my list:
- Read 1 book a month
- Make 1001 origami stars
- Visit all the AZA zoos in a 4 hour radius
- Visit 3 National Parks
- Finish Neverwinter Nights
- Publish a journal article
- Volunteer 101 hours
- Lose 10 lbs

You are welcome to join my yahoo group for it as well: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/101thingsin1001days/

Sounds like fun.

It's been great fun so far! I just started it on Jan. 1st...so I haven't completed anything yet. But I have started some of my projects, and I've been researching others. I am keeping a blog of all my activities too. :)

Some of mine are aquaria-based....like setting up a native tank, breeding, etc... :)

I have a few breeding projects on my goals for 2009 list, so I'll put those on mine. They are breeding and successfully raising fry of my platinum angels, Nandopsis haitiensis, and Herichthys sp. turquoise.

Non fish related, I am walking each day. Started with 1 mile for January and will increase it as I cut my time down. I would like to increase it a mile each month, i.e. in February do 2 miles, March 3 miles, and so on, but I don't know how realistic that is when it gets past June.
