Just as the title says curious as to what is out there. I have purchased so many cichlids from lfs and just have bad luck with getting males. lets see what ya got...

I really just want one or two, I have a female Red devil digging nest's every where in a 55, a nice breeder female flowerhorn that I'm wondering what to x her with. So I suppose I am just looking for a male to breed. Texas would be nice, midas, trimac, etc... thanks for your time...

You need a bigger tank first, the minimum size tank for one red devil OR one flowerhorn is 75g for a pair you'll need 100g+.

First off they are young fish and I also have a 75 a 110 and a 180. If you dont have something nice to say dont say anything at all... Lets not derail the purpose of this thread.. Thank you have a nice day.

I would be delighted if I could find males of the same species, but I am interested in others as well...

I don't think anything said has been offensive, but I'm sorry if you felt that way...

just saying that trying to find species other than what you have to breed with is frowned upon in this hobby, particularly in the cichlid world...good luck finding fish and good luck breeding....

I meant to quote on my last post, I did'nt direct the statement about dont say anything at all towards you pappy. I currently have over 600 gallons of water in my home that I keep pristine for specimens other than cichlids as well such as silver arowana and a freshwater Reticulated Ray. The tank size police kinda irritates me thats all. With that said, how could anyone weaken the Flowerhorn gene pool? A male RD would be nice though to breed with the female I already own. I'm not on a mission to create a new sub species through "selective breeding" just wanted to see what my female Fh's fry would look like with other gene's thats all. Texas are already used in the FH world... I do have some male's Jd's and Cons and I think a fire mouth as well, but they are paired up with same species mates....
