150 Gallon Build Thread ... From the Start

Looks fantastic! Love the crown molding look on it, and the stain job came out fantastic! Can't wait to see it in your place right side up with a tank on it! :)

this is like aquaria central's version of an aquatic great wall of china!!!

so many posts and so many ideas to build a masterpiece ( and it it had better turn out as one...!)!!!

Thanks - I appreciate it ... the crown molding did add a "finished" look to it. It should also blend nicely with the kitchen cabinets (crown molding also), which are in the adjacent room and clearly visible.

Thanks so much ... that was my original idea in starting this thread (and project) - to give viewers plenty of ideas.

All the people on here have made it happen!!

Way cool :thm::thm::thm:

Looking great, cf!!!!

A bit of a set back (nothing I can't handle - lol)!

We brought the stand in the house to get it out of the way in the garage. The next morning with a little light on it the poly finish was streaked to high heaven. Not acceptable. I tried to sand down the poly (very, very slowly with 600 grit wet/dry sandpaper) to no avail. I got through the poly and to the stain - removing it in a couple of places and getting down to the bare wood. I was forced to sand it all down (except the top rail and end panels) and start the finishing process over. Wow - what a :lipssealedsmilie::lipssealedsmilie:

Anyway - here it is - let the finish process begin!
