What Should I Put In This Tank?

There are several vendors carrying bluespots right now:
Zimmerman's: http://forum.nanfa.org/index.php?showtopic=1948
Jonah's: http://jonahsaquarium.com/JonahSite/fishlist.htm
Sach's: http://www.aquaculturestore.com/fwverts.html

Those guys also carry a broad selection of other natives. The little Enneacanthus sunnies I mentioned really do best in a heavily planted tank, but you could try some of the Lepomis species too. The usual species like bluegill, redbreasts, and greens are too big and aggressive to keep more than a pair or trio in your tank, but there are several very pretty smaller species, like longears, orangespots, and dollars, which are better community fish. Check those same vendors listed above. Zimmerman's fish are all captive-raised. I believe Jonah's and Sach's fish are a combination of wild-caught and captive-raised; they tend to have a better selection in the spring, so if you there's a particular species that's not in stock you might just have to wait a little while.

You can also try posting on the trading dock at http://forum.nanfa.org/. You can trade for all sorts of natives there. There are also several regulars on the forum in VA and neighboring areas, so you might find some collecting partners who know where the fish you want can be found.
