hey-
while posting the trouble of my tank, it made me think of that nice day when me and my girlfriend went to the lake to get some sand for my aqaurium. so here are the pictures.
i took the picstures while standing with my bare feet in the water.

the second one shows the faint image of the peace bridge, between us and canada.
the last one was a shot of some birds on the water. they are the band of tiny, white dots below the water's horizon. they are hard to make out.

hope you enjoy!

Yes, it certainly is huge...it's appr. 30-35 miles wide and 150-200 miles long. I guess that's why they're called THE GREAT LAKES :lipssealedsmilie: I also have the pleasure of living on Lake Ontario...the Canadian side.

ps...Great photo's Sapphire!!!

Question for Tone and Saph; Are there any little schools of fish around in lake ontario? I've seen some pics of people using crazy nets to catch them as bait fish, just wondering. Oh, and nice pics!

<grinz> lake ontario is just a wee puddle compared to Lake Superior where I live

Nice photos.........:)

yes, as a matter of fact.
when i was standing in the water taking the pictures i saw a large school of fish that were light tan colored.
they had neon green/blue parts near their fins.
i ran out of battery power, so i could'nt take a picture!
we plan on going back in the springtime/summer for a picnic and if i do see a school again, i will get some shots. the school moved very slowly and peacefully, seemingly oblivious to us so it should be easy to catch a pic.

thanks again for the complements all!
