limited to one pleco what would it be?

My L200 'green phantom pleco' not the largest of pleco's (7-8"), he lives in my 180g tank but i'm sure one could be kept in a 55g tank.
He loves his veggies and go's nuts over the prawns i put in his tank. He also loves to hang out on his piece of driftwood, there are eight pieces of wood in his tank but i only ever see him on the one piece.

Mgamer, are you secretly putting together a stocking list of goods and fish?

For my vote, I'll go with perennial favorite, the bristlenose pleco, its got a unique face and stays small for a pleco. Plus they're easy to feed with sinking wafers, snail jello and vegetables.

I have a 12" Common. Omnivore, needs a tank of 48" or longer. Needs hiding places. Non-aggressive. Have been known to get to 24" in the home aquarium (rare) and will live 10+ years.

Also have a 6" Gibbiceps.Primarily vegetarian, grows to 8" will live 20+ years.

I like big fish so I would go with the common.

That or he is bored (as he admitted yesterday).lol

I'm satisfied with my bristlenose plecos, Ancistrus sp. and Ancistrus sp. 3. They do quite a good job along with the nerites keeping the shells of my Pomacea diffusa clean. It would be a royal pain in the neck to keep scrubbing out the algae on their shells. My BNs are housed in a low light planted setup with a few driftwoods in there which have been waterlogged for almost 7 years so there is not much tannins leached. They eat whatever I give my snails from the foods stuck on plaster of Paris, snail jello, veggies, calcium pills, etc. 5 inches max for both.

I've always wanted a Zebra pleco (L046), they're so adorable! They stay small - 4 inches tops. They're pretty shy compare to normal plecs and omnivores, not algae eaters so feeding has to be more direct in order for them not to be outcompeted by tankmates. Since I got my first tank it's a fish that I've wanted but I've never seen them locally and... well... check out their prices on Aquabid...

I want it because it can reach 3 feet+ in a big enough tank with proper care. I also want it because they're supposed to be one of the most aggressive Plecos. I also want one because they look awesome and are relatively active for a pleco (or so says Planet Catfish).

They are omnivorous, which means that they eat both plants and all of the other fish you stocked the tank with along with a variety of fish food.

I think that I would want minimum a tank with a length of eight feet, a height of three feet, and a depth of three feet. That comes out to about 535 gallons and should be wide enough until the Pleco reaches three feet or so.

i would want my farlowella, anything spotted, or a bristlenose. that way people see them and go what the... heck is that.

The only Plecos I like enough to consider owning are:

the smaller BNPs, pitbulls etc - just because they're decent cleaning crew

the spotted ones (snowball, schneeball, GN etc.) - they're neat looking. Sizes & requirements vary by species. I also really like Deb's(?) big spotted one - as seen in the pic of the year contest.
