i have three pairs but none have spawned for me
i recently divided my tank about a day ago so one side has one pair the other has the other pair
the larger pair hav started to dig a whole
so i hope i get eggs soon

wow sweetness, they are monsters.....beautiful fish everyone, how long have you had them??? and what does everybody feed their JD's??? i haven't fed mine anything but pellets and spirulina brine shrimp....of course he has eaten 7 of my tiger barbs and all 3 of my bala sharks a couple of months ago

I've hand my JD for about two years and my EBJD for three months, the EBJD is in a growout tank until he is big enough to be introduced into my cichlid tank. I feed them on beefheart, prawns, dry cichlid sticks and a frozen cichlid mix which has beefheart, bloodworm, shrimp and spinach in it.
It sounds as if you have got a mean JD there, some JD won't let you put any other fish in their tank with them.
