Planted 29g questions

I am starting a 29 gallon planted tank that has a 24" fluorescent light, 17 watts, so low light. I am doing fish-in cycling with 2 zebra danios, which is probably less fish than most people would use for cycling but I dunno, maybe it's safer for them or something. I will be adding more plants and maybe some boulders but here is what I have now. I also wanted to find out what kind of plant this is that I bought that's growin on my driftwood, maybe anubias? And, is the fuzz on them ok?
Any other advice as far as what plants I should add is welcome too.

i paid 10 dollars, and bk828, i'd be glad to listen to your recommendations, but that was just a complaint. please be more specific. what kind of light can i get to fit in that fixture that is better, or would it be better to find a new top? i've read that anubias and java fern have even thrived in tanks with just the ambient room lighting so figured i was ok. again i'm new so the more specific you get the better it is for me. thanks
 
Some people have had luck with growing some plants under just room light but then you have that share of people who werent successful. If you go for low light go for around 1.5wpg to be on the safe side. To get that you can retrofit your hood with 2 indoor/outdoor sockets and use screw in compact fluorescent bulbs (27w) this will give you toughly 1.8wpg but due to the restrike of the screw in bulbs the wpg will be close to what i stated at first.
 
That looks like the All-Glass 29 gallon kit. I changed the light out with a 55 watt kit from here:

I was able to fit it into the hood except the ballast which I mounted to the back of the hood. I was able to use the old reflecter as a drill guide for the new reflector and use all of the same screw holes. The reflector is really good and there is very little wasted light.

Now to get plants...

I am doing this too. For 70 bucks which includes the 55 watt lamp and kit and shipping, you can gut your plastic light hood and put very quality light into your 29 thanks to the really good reflector. It is really easy with the instructions, just take your time. With 55 watts in a 29 you are getting just about 2 watts per gallon. I may also add a 36 watt t5 strip light from coralife to that to get over 3wpg since I just bought a CO2 setup.

If you stick with low light you should also add java moss, hornwort, anachris, watersprite, java fern, and crypt.

Ive also done amazon sword and onion plant well in very low light

Let me know what you decide to do as I am also setting up a planted 29.
