Quick Newbie Ramshorn Question

try a little more protein for more eggs if you're raising them for your puffer.

I have a difficult time getting Ramshorns to breed as well. In the Assassin tank I have the temperature set at 78 so I'm hoping that it will help. I've never had a problem with the Ramshorns breeding out of control - now those pearl-like pond snails are another story.

You can make some snail jello and add a carnivore pellet for protein. :)

or just toss in the protein pellet alone hehe

edit: that's what i get for lagging on responses, jinkzie beats me to the punch

Along these lines, does anyone know what the average breeding-egg-babies timeframe is for rams?

I found a fresh ramshorn clutch laid yesterday (by fresh I mean within 1 hour) and I'll be taking daily snapshots until they hatch. idk about the breeding-to-eggs part but I can cover the eggs-babies. My tank's going to be kept at 72F. I'm positive this has been done before but it's really just for my own amusement :p

It's only the second day and already I can see wee little uh...embryos? Dunno what the specific term is.

Have I told you how awesome you are?!

How do you know it's a Rams clutch and not a pond snail clutch? I've never been able to tell the difference.

As far as I'm aware, I have no pond or pouch snails in my tank. I think I did see 1 a few months back but it was the size of a pinhead and never got to breeding size. I honestly don't know what a pond snail clutch looks like :)
