Thanks everyone! They really grew on me...at first I was waiting for them to get big enough to bring to a LFS, but now I am rather attached and plan on moving them to a 75 gallon while I wait for spring (I'm ordering my rainbows from California so I want to wait until warmer weather).
Here are some updated pictures of my first batch of sailfin babies! Although it seems like the older they get, the more difficult it is to get a clear picture. :headshake2:
December 2008
2 of the females
My favorite male, who will make many more appearances in later pictures.
January 2009
My 2 males once again.
And today, February 2009
In case you can't tell, I love my two males. I don't want too much inbreeding, so I am going to see if my LFS will give me credit/let me exchange for different females.
Very nice looking fish.. though they look a bit interesting to me.. I think there may be a possibility that they are 1/2 Balloon Molly... they look just like my balloon fry did when they started growing.. and even though they are in a tank with all sailfins.. the mother could have breeded with a ballooon male a long time ago-- they can lay fry 6 months after getting impregnated..
Not real likely.. but a possibility depending on how long you have had them...
