Nebraska~ at the moment
I am so freaking lost. I bought a second hand fish tank yesterday and it came with all this equipment and I have no clue how to assemble it. I assumed that the condition the aquarium was in it looked like it had been used as a saltwater aquarium but ugh I don't know. I need help. Here is what I have and you tell me if it's freshwater stuff or saltwater stuff and then if there is a link on how to assemble it that would be fab too.

Regent Aqua-Tech 200
Marineland Bio-Wheel PRO 30
and then this black square looking think with tubes and wires coming out of it and it says "aquaculture" in silver lettering on it.

Please help me, I'm so clueless
thanks!

Alright, I'm sure this is a really dumb question but I really need to know. I've googled all of them and they seem to be an old model and I can't seem to get any info. Only things that come up are the newer models and that does me no good. I want to get it up and running tonight.

I'm not familiar with any of those... sorry not to be much help! Perhaps if you could post a pic? Especially of the 'square looking thing with tubes and wires' and maybe someone would be able to help then?

I am really really blushing right now. Ugh can you tell I don't know anything about aquariums?! The square thing with tubes and wires ended up being an airpump with a bubble wand attached to it. I have that up and running now. The closest thing I can find that is similar to the equipment I have is this

so now all I have to do is figure out how to put it together and not kill myself in the process. If only my husband were here right now watching this, he would laugh his arse off! The things we do for our kids! I am feeling quite humble at the moment and utterly embaressed :werd:

:) hey you figured it out, that's awesome. I remember the first time I installed a light fixture. It took me ummm... a lot longer than the 20min it said on the pkg...

Good luck with figuring out the rest. How are you planning on cycling your tank? What are you looking at for stock?

a picture of the items would make giving you help so much easier.

Don't feel embarassed at all, Blizzanj. We all get lost in equipment we haven't used before. And you're new at this - you're not supposed to know everything, yet.

I'm not familar with them by name either. But I tried to find out what I could to help out. First of all, this is freshwater equipment so it's no use for a saltwater tank. You'll need to also purchase a few more things for your fish tank (like a heater, gravel vac, water test kit, filter media, substrate, and so on) if this is all it came with. But we'll be happy to help you along the way.

With old second-hand equipment in general, they may or may not last very long. So keep in mind that you might have to replace them. (That usually happens at the worst possible time. lol.) Replacement parts can also be hard to find.

Regent Aqua-Tech 200

I think Regent is the brand name Walmart uses for Marineland equipment. I read one comment which said the old Aqua-Tech 200 filter is the same thing they're now calling an Aqua-Tech 20-40. I can't confirm whether that's true or not. If it is, that should look something like this one does.

Marineland Bio-Wheel PRO 30

If what I was able to find looks like the same thing you have now, this will show you how it goes on the back of your tank.
