is there any dwarf angelfish that is less likely to eat corals... or it is all hit or miss

Generally, and I hear the same about flame angels. However, IMHO it is all hit or miss with dwarf angels to an extent.
It's hit or miss with many fish though. A hepatus (hippo tang) destroyed a beautiful colony of yellow parazoanthus in my tank... Now that there are only a few polyps left he started picking on alcyonium.

Agreed, but IMHO dwarf angels are a riskier proposition than a fish like a tang. I've heard FAR more horror stories regarding dwarf angels in a reef than a lot of other species. That said, I completely agree with you that the personality of the individual fish plays a big part in whether the fish will behave itself in a reef.

BTW- I love the hepatus tang. :)

I have a Flame Angel in my coral tank and he seems to leave the corals alone.
