Well, after a long discussion about my aquatic obsession, my husband (Gasman) has decided he wants to join me in the water world. He would like something that would be a "wet pet" such as an Oscar however they get waaaayyy too big. Is there a species that has a personalilty like an Oscar but could comfortably live in a 55 gallon max, with few or no other tank mates?

He likes my angel but would like something different that he could call his very own............

Any suggestions? Thanks! :)

Personally, I agree but not sure he would. (he hates snakes and says they look too snakelike!) :headshake2:

A single Severum. They are peaceful, at least for cichlids. Lots of colors from which to choose. Mine come to meet me anytime I am near the tank and they are only 4 1/2". I can imagine how they will be once they are full grown.

will a full grown Sev be ok in a 55? I had thought they needed a 75 minimum?

i agree on the jd theyre really beautiful. can geophageus go in a 65? theyre really cool and for some reason their face reminds me of a horse lol. i had two babies in a 30 but they were mismatched with their tank mates so they went to a more suitable home :) let us know what hubby decides on, i wish mine would be so interested!
